Hailing from Cape Town, South Africa, 12th Avenue has earned a reputation for being one of the hardest working, most energetic and entertaining live acts in the country.
The band completed an album trilogy; ‘Crazy (2005)’, ‘Insane (2007)’ & ‘Sober’ in 2008, which told a story of two fictional characters "Anjee" and "12".
‘Sober’ was released through Musketeer Records, who are also Seether's distribution label in South Africa. 12th Avenue had the honour of supporting Seether on all the dates of their Homecoming SA Tour in June 2008, playing to over 20 000 people over 4 nights.
12th Avenue has headlined at some of SA’s top live music venues including; Mercury Live and Grand Arena (Cape Town); Standard Bank Arena, The Blues Room, Tempos and Roxy Rhythm Bar (Johannesburg); Burn and Wavehouse (Durban); Zeplins (Pretoria); NMMU Sports Centre (Port Elizabeth) and many more.
They have shared the stage with acts such as; Seether, Just Jinjer, aKING, & Wonderboom.
They achieved great success with many of their singles namely; ‘Crazy’, ‘Living in my Life’, ‘Single’ and ‘Time Bomb’, which made number 1 on many radio station charts throughout South Africa.
The music videos for singles; ‘Crazy’, ‘Single’, ‘Fall Again’, ‘Living in my Life’, ‘Time Bomb’ and ‘Over the Edge’ were aired on the SABC channels, MNET and MK.
The bands musical style draws influence from bands such as Metallica, Queen, Seether, The Beatles, Motley Crue, My Chemical Romance, The Used and many more.
