2009 saw the emergence of one of Ireland's brightest and most charismatic up and coming bands to be born into the Irish music scene, known as Boy Lights Fire. Claiming "Take On Us" by Irish Math-Rockers "Redneck Manifesto" as the first music ever performed by the three-piece, much excitement rapidly grew as the group rapidly built up a strong fanbase along the East coast, selling out their first three headline gigs followed by their debut single "Weatherman" winning "Best Song" at the Highway 67 Music Awards.
In November 2010 , "First Music Contact" invited the band onboard their FMC Tour, in which they would share the stage with leading Irish artists Jape, And So I Watch You From Afar, and Fionn Regan. As if things couldn't get any better, the indie-new wave/dance trio arrived in first place of the 2011 Clubclass Promotions Battle Of Bands, through which the band were offered slots at leading Irish music festivals Electric Picnic and Temple House festivals.
"Our influences are very broad! But we definitely came together out of our shared interests in Math-rock, Post-rock groups and Indie bands such as Redneck Manifesto, Mogwai, Death Cab For Cutie, Foals and Dublin band Spies. In a way, our music could be described as a hyperactive fusion of everything we have ever listened to. There is a definite dance element that is vital to our sound as well, due to the fact that we really work towards making our live shows as energetic and engaging as possible".
Boy Lights Fire are delighted to announce that their debut three track "Weatherman" EP (Released in April 2011) is now available for download (www.boylightsfire.bandcamp.com) and in selected shops in August 2011. www.myspace.com/boylightsfireband and www.breakingtunes.com/boylightsfire.
