Born from a school days friendship, Hail to the Eskimo now comprises Sally Leigh, (Vocals), Phil Johnson (Guitar), Matt Wilkinson (Guitar), Rob Bishop (Bass & Backing Vocals) and Dave Crozier (Drums). They are from Doncaster, UK, and formed in March 2008. The band’s intention is to create music that appeals to a wide ranging audience, yet still has the edge allowing it to be classed in the Alternative genre. They write songs faster than they can learn them, a magical music making factory it is to be precise (if you can picture it), and they attempt to utilise any instruments they can find regardless of quality or tone. Their songs are upbeat bundles of sonic energy, reflecting the stranger parts of earthling life and love, with a witty commentary on the mundane.
