Jay.Q was born John Jacques Paul; on January 26, 1990 at Jackson memorial hospital, located in Miami, Florida. Growing up, John only had one parent as his legal guardian (which was his mother) and with him being the last child of four, he would constantly find himself in and out of trouble; which ranged from running away from home to getting suspended from school. Being that he never had a father figure simply because his father was of Haitian decent and was deported back to Haiti, his mother and his oldest sister tried to discipline him, but were unsuccessful. His oldest brother Terrance was never around to give him guidance, or teach him things most young male teenagers would seek out of an older male guy figure. So John decided to turn to his problems and frustrations into an outlet for his music. He later went onto write his first four bar verse in the fifth grade, which sparked him to continue down the path of writing music. John had finally received the opportunity to showcase his talents at his middle school by performing a written song about passing the Fcat (a Florida comprehension test that requires the person taking the test must receive higher than a 2 or a 3 to pass, in both math and reading) alongside a couple of his schoolmates; Donnie, Dante, and Elvis; in their school auditorium. That proved to be a huge success and the beginning of what was to come later on down the line at some point. Upon him entering his very first year of high school, his two sisters; Jackie and Kia, and oldest brother; Terrance, had witnessed the passing of their mother Brenda Yvette Paul. This propelled John to really dedicate more of his time solely on perfecting his craft. So John and his oldest sister Kia decided to move to Mooresville, North Carolina, in which he was introduced to U.M.G. founder Mr. Kino Watson (located in Charlotte, North Carolina near the NC Music Factory) and began working on his first solo project entitled; The Progress Report Volume #1. With the release of his first cd, Jay.Q intends on revolutionizing the rap game, with his style of rap. The reign and era of Jay.Q is currently upon us.
