In December 2009, Cleo Mark Cruz (Guitarist), Dannel Lopez (bassist) Darren Panopio (former guitarist) Rodolfo Abanez(former drummer) and Von Herrera (Vocals) decided to name the band Potato when joining their first battle of the bands. Rodolfo Abanez left the band and Jef Masacayan took the position. After the battle of the bands, they changed the spelling of it from POTATO to POTEYTO for a twist since the meaning of the name is "Puta ito" in tagalog.
In May 2010, Darren left the band to pursue his nursing career and there comes Romnick Nitro to put Poteyto on stage for a little while. He didn't stay longer due to work schedule conflicts. Without a word, Jef didn't show up at the rehearsal two days before their first performance at the Alexis bar. Von immediately searched for Jef's replacement. Jelyn, a common friend, gave him the number of Alex Bool. A high school student. They asked Alex to join the band after he gave a new beat to their two singles (Lips Ink, Death Note) and hearing his goals in music.
With courage, they recorded some tracks like Pintuan 911, Death Note, Lips Ink, and Ipokrito. Discovering themselves in a way of combining their imagination and knowledge to discover what life really means and sharing it to their listeners passionately. Target locked for an album and loading up for more singles to record like Alarm Clock, Untouchable, Helen of Troy, The Prophecy and Staring Limelights. Their obsession to hear their music recordings creates an invisible bond for them to come up with more original sweet and sour morbid loud songs.
