Prospects is a rap group that consists of two young men; Sheed, 17, & Mazii, 20. Sheed and Mazii grew up together on the same block in West Philadelphia. They began rapping together in the summer of 2005. When they first started, it was just "something to do" for them. But then one day they realized that what they had was something alot of others didnt have - talent. So they began taking it serious. Sheed and Mazii didnt go by "Prospects" when they first started out, they went by the name "Top Younginz." Top Younginz would write up to 3 songs every single day, and was recording them within the next month. It was all good for the Top Younginz for the first three years. They were doing shows, contests, and lots of other things. Then, suddenly the unthinkable happened. Early 2009, the Top Younginz came to an agreement that they were wasting to much time and money on studio time and anything thats music realted, they were discouraged.... so they quit. But Sheed never stopped writing, and broke out solo for about 6 months. But in the year 2010, they realized that the music industry needs them and their music. So they began writing and recording again. The Top Younginz wanted to become more than rappers, they wanted to be marketable, so they changed alot... including their name. So now they go by Prospects., and their back feeling better than ever and ready for the challenges thats out there. Prospects is releasing their freshman mixtape "Grind & Dedication" in November of 2010.
